What is a carney?

Carneys are workers who are employed by traveling carnivals, fairs, or circuses to help set up, run, and take down rides, games, food stands, and other attractions. They perform a variety of tasks, such as operating rides, selling tickets, managing booths, and maintaining equipment. Carneys often travel from one location to another with the carnival, working long hours during the event season. The job requires adaptability, customer service skills, and a willingness to perform different roles as needed. Many Carneys value the sense of community and adventure that comes with the lifestyle.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a carney?

To thrive as a Carney, you need strong customer service skills, physical stamina, and the ability to operate amusement rides or run game booths, typically learned on the job without formal qualifications.
