Job description

We are excited to be adding a Certified Cargo Tank Inspector to the MAC Trailer Team. Our Certified Cargo Tank Welder utilizes and implements acquired knowledge, experience, and skill to perform Aluminum and Steel Mig & Tig Welding and mechanical tasks to produce and/or repair tanker trailers and tank trailer parts for the MAC Trailer Service company and its customers. This job offers opportunities for growth and training and a clean, safe work environment.

Please note that shift hours are Mon – Fri 5am – 3pm with additional overtime.

Wage Range: $28.00 – $35.00

What you will do:

Summary

Utilizes and implements acquired knowledge, experience, and skill to perform Aluminum and Steel Mig & Tig Welding and mechanical tasks to produce and/or repair tanker trailers and tank trailer parts for the MAC Trailer Service company and its customers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform and abide by safety policies and procedures while welding and other related task assignments.
  • Perform daily custom build/repair fit/up and welding assignments.
  • Perform daily electrical repairs and diagnostics related to tank trailer repair and operations.
  • Perform daily air systems repairs and diagnostics related to tank trailer repair and operations.
  • Perform and review specification documentation and information related to assignments to ensure products are repaired to customer specifications and MAC Trailer Service quality Standards.
  • Perform Mechanical tasks such as repairing or replacing necessary material, drilling holes in frame or body, installing reflective tape, replacing suspension(s) and repair, brake replacement or adjustment, utilizing various power tools to facilitate.
  • Communicate issues of concern and any other pertinent information that affects the productive completion of quality products, schedule of products, and safety to inventory and production management.
  • Perform assignment of work to contribute to material, parts and products produced according to MAC Trailer Service and MAC Trailer quality and quantity standards, while supporting a safe work environment
  • Any other assigned duties

Qualifications, Education, and/or Experience

  • Proficiency in Steel and Aluminum Mig and TIG Welding (must pass company-approved weld test and certification)
  • High School graduate or GED required.
  • Previous Fall Protection experience preferred.
  • Ability to work from heights is required.
  • Ability to display comprehension and understanding of Fall Protection training and requirements is required.
  • Previous experience and training in permitted Confined Space is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a permitted Confined Space is required.
  • Ability to display comprehension and understanding of Confined Space training and requirements is required.
  • Ability to maneuver self throughout tanker trailer product and safely evacuate a tanker trailer is required.
  • Ability to interpret detailed drawings, prints, and written instructions is required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment is required.
  • Ability to work alone or with a team is required.
  • Ability to operate related tools and equipment safely is required.
  • Ability to work assigned shift and/or extended shift hours is required.
  • Demonstrated mechanical and electrical knowledge and repair abilities is preferred.
  • Basic math skills are required.
  • Ability to enter detailed written information is required. Example: Inspection documentation.

Physical Demands

  • Working in a manufacturing environment, maneuvering self throughout work area, product, equipment, fall protection devices, including may evacuate during emergency evacuation.
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Will don and doff safety equipment (example respirators and fall protection)
  • Will stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
