Job description

Prestage Farms is seeking a dedicated Animal Caretaker to join our team. This role involves various daily activities related to the care and welfare of swine. Responsibilities include monitoring the environment, feeding and caring for animals, maintaining farm sanitation, and ensuring animal health and well-being. The Animal Caretaker will also handle animal movement and document tracking data alongside all associated paperwork.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in all daily operations related to the care and feeding of animals
  • Ensure the welfare and well-being of the animals at all times
  • Maintain adequate feed and supplies, adhering to standards for feeding and watering
  • Identify and correct any problem areas promptly or report them to the supervisor
  • Follow all safety procedures and ensure understanding of standards and protocols
  • Maintain thorough record-keeping tools for animal management and complete reports on time
  • Clean and maintain equipment, ensuring a safe and correct environment within barns
  • Collaborate with team members to promote a supportive working environment
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the manager
