Job description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced CVOR RN for a large academic teaching hospital, requiring recent cardiovascular/open heart OR competency and a VT or compact RN license.
Job Details
• Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) unit within a large academic, teaching hospital (500+ beds),
• 12-hour rotating shifts (day/evening), 3x 12s per week (0645-1915),
• 36 hours per week over a 16-week assignment,
• On-call requirements include one to two weekday calls (1900-0715) and one full weekend of call every 5 weeks,
• May be required to float to other OR suites (general, ortho, neuro, ENT, etc), circulating only when floated,
• Required to personally scrub cardiac/open heart cases,
• Schedule runs Monday to Sunday with no block scheduling,
Job Requirements
• Active VT RN license or compact license required,
• BLS certification required; CNOR preferred,
• Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience with recent, high competency in cardiovascular/open heart OR cases,
• Prior travel nursing experience required,
• Large, academic, teaching hospital experience required,
• Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years required,
• Complete work history must include bed count, EMR system, and facility type for consideration,
• Any employment gaps over 90 days must be explained,
Additional Information
• Perform circulating and scrubbing duties for cardiovascular and open heart surgical cases,
• Must be flexible with scheduling to meet unit and patient care needs,
• Bi-weekly orientations are held for new staff,
• Reliable personal transportation is strongly recommended as public transportation is not accessible in the area,
• Vehicles should be equipped with all-season or snow tires during November through April,
• Accepts local candidates within a 50-mile radius,
• Radius rate applies for candidates residing 51-100 miles from the facility
