Job description

Cardiac Catheterization Lab Technician

Pay Range: $32.58 - $48.87

A successful candidate's actual pay rate will be based on several factors including relevant experience, skills, training, certifications and education.

Assists the physician with the performance of invasive and diagnostic/interventional cardiac, vascular, neuro and electrophysiology procedures, by monitoring, passing instruments and catheters, observing patient response to procedure, maintaining sterile field, and interpreting and evaluating diagnostic data to be utilized by the physician. Supports the education, training, quality improvement and research processes in the department and excels in a subspecialty area of expertise.

Education Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Completion of a certificate/training program or Associates degree in health sciences is preferred (including but not limited to cardiovascular technology, respiratory therapy, nursing, or emergency medical services).

Experience Qualifications:

  • 4 years of cath lab or special procedures experience is required.
  • Cross-trained and able to rotate to perform at least four (4) functional skill sets as delegated in any diagnostic or interventional case type performed.

Certifications, Licenses and Registrations:

  • Certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) is required (for hires/transfers, including promotions/career progressions, after July 2023).
  • Candidates without RCIS/RCES certification may be considered if they have a minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in a cardiac catheterization lab and can demonstrate in-depth knowledge of invasive cardiology procedures, hemodynamic monitoring, sterile technique, and procedural support.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required.
