Job description

Key Responsibilities
  • Cardiac Monitoring: Continuously monitor and analyze heart rhythms using EKG machines, interpreting, and recording data to identify abnormalities.
  • Patient Assessment & Care: Conduct head-to-toe assessments, administer medications (IV/PO), and manage central lines, wounds, and chest tubes.
  • Emergency Response: Promptly identify and act on life-threatening arrhythmias or changes in cardiac status.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely patient records in the electronic health record system.
  • Collaboration & Education: Work with physicians, nurses, and technicians to develop care plans and educate patients/families on treatment plans and discharge instructions.

Requirements
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse program.
  • License: Active RN license in the Commonwealth of Virginia or compact state.
  • Experience: Previous experience in telemetry, step-down, or medical-surgical nursing preferred.
  • Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required.
