Job Profile
JOB SUMMARY: The Cath Lab Radiologic Technician collaborates with physicians, nurses and other clinical disciplines to provide care to patients undergoing procedures in the cardiac catheterization lab. The Cath Lab Radiologic Technician assists with the preparation and operation of the radiology equipment during procedures in the catheterization lab suite and ensures that: required supplies are available; all equipment is functioning properly and set-up correctly prior to each case. The Cath Lab Radiologic Technician works under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse and serves as a preceptor to clinical staff and students.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Licensure/Specialized Training:
a. Education: Graduated from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology. The accreditation agency must be recognized by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
b. Licensure/Certification: Medical Radiologic Technologist License by the Texas Medical Board (TMB). Radiologic Technologist Certification by the ARRT, CPR required, ACLS acquired within six months
Equipment Operated: All ionizing radiation equipment associated with STEMI care in the cath lab
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Communication Skills: Above Average Verbal (Heavy Public Contact)
Other Skills: Medical Terms, PC
Work Schedule: Weekends, Holidays, Flexible, On-Call
