Cardiologist - Inpatient/Outpatient Hybrid Position
Join a National Leader in Cardiovascular Disease Prevention, Treatment and Research
Learn more about this outstanding opportunity to join Hartford HealthCare's Heart & Vascular Institute, a national leader in cardiovascular disease prevention, treatment, surgery, and research, providing personalized care to more patients and performing more advanced cardiac procedures than any other cardiac program in Connecticut.
This full-time noninvasive cardiology position is primarily based at Hartford Hospital, one of the largest academic and surgical centers in the Northeast and the quaternary hub of Hartford HealthCare's Heart & Vascular Institute.
The inpatient role at Hartford Hospital focuses on consultative and follow-up care for patients with medium to high cardiac complexity admitted to the hospital. During weeks not assigned to the inpatient service, the cardiologist participates in outpatient clinical care and noninvasive imaging interpretation (echocardiography, stress testing, etc.) across one of the seven hospitals within the Hartford HealthCare network-allowing for a well-rounded and diverse clinical practice.
Highlights of this opportunity include the following:
1. The consultative cardiology inpatient service at Hartford Hospital works closely with clinical faculty and referring physicians
2. Responsibilities include evaluation of new consults, collaborative in-hospital care/rounding, and transitional care for patients with heart-related conditions.
3. Clinical, research and teaching opportunities with fellows and the clinical cardiology team as part of Hartford HealthCare's Heart & Vascular Institute.
4. Partner with a team of Cardiology Advanced Practice Providers and sub-specialists including Advanced Heart Failure, Structural Heart, Interventional, Electrophysiology and Cardiac Surgery.
5. When covering the outpatient setting at one of the network hospitals, the physician will have access to a comprehensive practice environment-including ambulatory cardiology, echocardiography, and stress testing (as desired).
Opportunity for inpatient only is also available.

With 55 practice locations and 7 acute care hospitals across Connecticut, the Heart & Vascular Institute at Hartford Hospital is one of only 16 hospitals nationally to earn the Joint Commission's prestigious Comprehensive Cardiac Center (CCC) Certification. We offer extensive opportunities for advanced cardiac care for our patients - all with support from the Hartford HealthCare system.
β€’ Join a physician-led medical group with best-in-class operations and a dedicated focus on addressing physician wellness.
β€’ Enjoy instant volume, a large internal referral network, a welcoming medical community, and seasoned, mentoring colleagues.
β€’ Access to the Hartford HealthCare Physician Leadership Institute, an intensive training program designed specifically for physicians with an interest in leadership.
