TravelNurseSource is working with Concentric Healthcare Staffing to find a qualified Cardiac Stepdown RN in Hilo, Hawaii, 96720!

Job Title

Registered Nurse – Cardiac Stepdown / Progressive Care Unit (Varied Shift)

Hilo, HI

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Rotating Shift | 36 hours per week | Onsite

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide primary nursing care for patients in a 15-bed Progressive Care Unit, including Step-down ICU and telemetry beds
  • Perform continuous telemetry monitoring and telemetry strip reading
  • Conduct fingerstick blood sugar monitoring and related bedside assessments
  • Operate and manage equipment including BIPAP and continuous cardiac monitoring devices
  • Document patient care using Meditech charting and administer medications via Pyxis
  • Float to other acute care units within the facility, including Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and Emergency departments as needed
Required Qualifications
  • Active State of Hawaii RN license required prior to start of assignment
  • Minimum of 1 year of hospital acute care experience within the last year
  • Proficiency with telemetry monitoring and strip reading
  • Ability to work a rotating schedule of 36 hours per week following initial orientation period
  • Willingness and ability to float to all acute inpatient units as assigned
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Progressive Care and telemetry nursing experience strongly preferred
  • ACLS certification preferred
  • Current PALS certification preferred
  • NIHSS certification preferred
