Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a large hospital; Level 1 preferred, Level 2 accepted
  • Travel nursing experience required (previous travel RN assignments preferred)
  • Active RN license (any state; compact license accepted) — Ohio license or compact eligibility preferred
  • Registered Nurse certification
  • BLS and ACLS required; NIH Stroke Certification preferred
  • EPIC charting system experience required (electronic health record experience a plus)
  • Ventilator and tracheostomy care experience required
  • Must pass online EKG/telemetry competency assessment before starting
  • IV start skills and experience with central lines required
  • Ability to read and interpret cardiac monitor strips (telemetry monitoring)
  • Availability to work every other weekend/holiday
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Cardiac Stepdown/Telemetry unit as a step-down RN
  • Continuous cardiac monitoring interpretation and management of cardiac drips (inotropes, antiarrhythmics, vasopressors)
  • Care for ventilated and trach patients, including ventilator management in a progressive care setting
  • Manage chest tubes, drains, central lines, and complex hemodynamic monitoring
  • Administer medications per protocols, including IV insulin, blood products, and chemotherapy as required
  • Perform phlebotomy, wound care, and monitor patients during procedural sedation
  • Float to other units as needed, including high-risk respiratory/COVID or ICU step-up units
  • Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams (IV team, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, cardiology, etc.)
  • Demonstrate strong critical thinking, clinical judgment, and time management in a high-acuity environment
