Registered Nurse-Cardiac Progressive Care

Location: Hilo, Hawaii
Pay Rate: $45/hr – $50/hr
Shift: Varied shifts
Schedule: 36 hours/week after first week of orientation; no call
Guaranteed Hours: No guarantee
Experience: Minimum 2 years nursing experience required

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse – Cardiac Progressive Care for a progressive care/telemetry opportunity in Hilo, Hawaii. This role is ideal for an RN with strong acute care, telemetry, and step-down experience who can provide safe, patient-centered care in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide primary nursing care for Progressive Care and Step-Down ICU patients

  • Monitor telemetry and interpret telemetry strips

  • Perform fingerstick blood sugar checks and patient assessments

  • Support continuous cardiac monitoring and respiratory support needs

  • Administer medications and follow unit protocols

  • Monitor patient condition and respond to clinical changes appropriately

  • Float to acute care units as needed, including Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and ER

  • Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with the care team

Requirements

  • Active Hawaii Registered Nurse license required by assignment start

  • Hawaii license application required upon offer acceptance if not already active

  • Minimum 2 years nursing experience required

  • At least 1 year recent hospital acute care experience required

  • Progressive Care and telemetry experience preferred

  • BLS/BCLS required

  • ACLS preferred

  • PALS preferred

  • NIHSS certification preferred

  • Must be flexible to float to other acute units

  • Must arrive the Thursday before start for employee health appointment

  • Holiday coverage required as needed
