  • Number of Beds – 10
  • Number of Staff – 6 RNS partnering with the PICU to staff
  • Type of staff:
    • Day shift – 1 Charge RN, RN to staff volume, 1:2 nurse patient ratios for critical care
    • Night Shift – 1 Charge RN, RN to staff volume, 1:2 nurse patient ratios for critical care
  • Patient Ratios – 1:2, estimated never guaranteed
  • Type of equipment – Phillips monitors, Med fusion and Baxter pumps
  • EMR – Meditech
Typical hiring profileSkill Set Most recruited for: (Travel RNs, local CNAs and sitters)

Must have : candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role.

  • Cardiac Critical Care experience greater than 2 years per Director
  • ACLS, BLS, & PALS

Preferred or nice to have candidates with these skills will be considered first.

  • Peritoneal dialysis, CRRT skills
  • ECMO bedside experience

  • Post-op care – inotropic and vasopressor continuous infusions, IVF and chest tube management, care of the post-sternotomy/ open chest.

Come join the RMC CICU for a fun contract where you will have where you will have the opportunity to serve the congenital cardiac population and work with a phenomenal team. The team consists of great professionals with experience in cardiac and pediatric critical care. The RN team averages 10 years nursing experience with a high engagement score and culture of safety score. We are committed to evidence-based practice, prevention and quality metrics serving the patients and team. This Unit is the EMCO Center of the hospital serving medical neonates and cardiac patients. To support these complex patients, we utilize equipment like the centrimag, prismax, arctic sun, etc. The patient population has 10 beds but is in the PICU (10 beds) so there are many resources willing to assist and support you during your shift. Our physician team is comprised of board-certified pediatric/congenital heart intensivists, all who have a great desire to partner with nurses to deliver the highest level of compassionate critical care. In this CICU, you will be working together with the intensivist and the disciplinary team to support each patient and their family through their congenital heart journey, come join us in this endeavor!
