Job description

  • Perform a key second-line-of-defense risk management role supporting compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Advise US Card Customer Servicing and Strategy teams as a credit card compliance subject matter expert
  • Partner with business leaders to integrate compliance risk into business strategy and growth initiatives
  • Provide proactive advice on new and revised products and processes
  • Provide guidance on regulatory requirements, policies, standards, procedures, controls, and monitoring
  • Identify internal and external risks and guide remediation, escalation, and subject-matter-expert facilitation
  • Maintain expertise in applicable laws and regulations, including Regulation Z, Regulation B, FCRA, and UDAAP
  • Perform and review control assessments
  • Evaluate Internal Audit, regulatory examination, and self-identified issues and events for compliance impacts
  • Provide effective challenge and guidance on compliance risks through interactions and forum engagements
  • Advise on new products, process development, controls, monitoring, remediation, corrective actions, and regulatory changes
  • Assist with development and maintenance of the Compliance Program, including monitoring, reporting, and training
  • Perform UDAAP validations and reviews
  • Participate in compliance testing and third-party compliance activities
  • Capture, maintain, analyze, and interpret compliance data
  • Participate in governance activities, including Compliance Requirements, Compliance Risk Assessments, Business Change Management (LAUNCH), and Issue and Event Management
  • Participate in Monthly Business Reviews, Quarterly Compliance Reviews, and other senior leadership reporting
  • Travel to various Capital One locations as necessary
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
  • At least 5 years of experience in Compliance, Risk Management, Audit or Legal
  • At this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position
  • Preferred: 7+ years of experience in Compliance, Risk Management, Audit or Legal
  • Preferred: Master’s Degree or Juris Doctor
  • Preferred: CRCM, ACAMS, or CIPP compliance certification
  • Preferred: Strong knowledge of Credit Card Operations, Servicing, Systems or Platforms
