Card Expert information

What is a card expert?

Card Experts are professionals with specialized knowledge in trading cards, credit cards, or collectible cards, depending on the industry. In the context of collectibles, Card Experts evaluate the authenticity, value, and condition of trading cards such as sports or gaming cards. They often assist collectors or businesses with grading, appraisals, and market trends. Their expertise helps buyers and sellers make informed decisions and avoid counterfeit or overvalued cards.

What skills and qualifications are needed to be a card expert?

To thrive as a Card Expert, you need deep knowledge of card games, analytical thinking, and familiarity with gaming rules and strategies, often supported by experience in tournaments or the gaming industry. Proficiency with card simulation software, online gaming platforms, and, for some roles, certifications in game adjudication or teaching can be important. Excellent communication, attention to detail, and customer service skills help you engage players and resolve disputes effectively. These skills are essential for providing accurate advice, fostering a positive gaming environment, and ensuring fair play.

How does a card expert collaborate with other departments, such as fraud prevention or customer service, in a financial institution?

As a Card Expert, collaboration with departments like fraud prevention and customer service is essential for ensuring cardholder security and satisfaction. You will often work closely with the fraud team to analyze transaction patterns, flag suspicious activities, and implement proactive measures to reduce risk. Additionally, you’ll support customer service by helping resolve cardholder issues, clarifying card benefits, and updating policies based on customer feedback. These cross-functional interactions help maintain smooth card operations and drive continuous improvement in card services.

Job description

About Crossing Inc
Crossing is a fast-growing e-commerce, retail, and collectibles company serving passionate communities across trading cards, gaming, anime, and pop culture. Through our retail stores, live commerce channels, events, and online platforms, we're building one of the most exciting destinations for collectors and enthusiasts.
About the Role

You'll host live selling sessions featuring trading card games and collectibles, engage with viewers in real time, showcase products, and help drive sales through a fun and customer-focused experience.

What You'll Do
  • Host engaging livestream selling sessions and represent the Clovr brand on camera
  • Showcase and sell trading cards, collectibles, and related products
  • Interact with viewers in real time, answer questions, and create a positive customer experience
  • Learn product details and stay up to date on trading card games such as Pokémon, One Piece, and others
  • Build excitement around products, promotions, and new releases
  • Help maintain an organized and professional livestream environment
  • Take ownership of preparing for sessions and continuously look for ways to improve the viewer experience and sales performance

What We're Looking For
  • Experience in customer service, sales, entertainment, hospitality, retail, or another customer-facing role
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable speaking, presenting, and being seen on camera
  • Engaging personality with the ability to connect naturally with an audience
  • Self-driven, dependable, and comfortable taking initiative
  • Willingness and enthusiasm to learn about various trading card games and collectibles
  • Ability to think on your feet and maintain energy during live sessions

Nice to Have
  • Previous livestreaming, content creation, hosting, or on-camera experience
  • Sales or retail experience with demonstrated ability to engage customers
  • Existing knowledge or interest in Pokémon, One Piece, sports cards, or other trading card games and collectibles

The pay range for this role is:
27 - 33 USD per hour (Irvine, CA)
