Job description

Univision Local Media in Miami is seeking a full time Producer & Editor. The right candidate will support the affiliate news team in the editing and distribution of content across the various Univision markets in the U.S., as well as Puerto Rico.
YOUR DAY-DAY: (aka Responsibilities)
  • Edit video, ingest video feeds and work with multiple news operations, as well as Univision Network News, simultaneously to efficiently move content between different points
  • Work closely with Assignment Managers, Executive Producers, and Producers at local stations across the country to coordinate coverage of daily stories and breaking news.
  • Work closely with Network News and Vix Noticias 24/7 to coordinate coverage of daily stories and breaking news.
  • Gather information about developing news stories and handle all inquiries and requests from local and network teams
  • Collaborate with local stations to identify, edit, caption and upload content to multiple digital platforms
  • Other tasks assigned by supervisor.

YOU HAVE: (aka Qualifications)
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Broadcast Journalism/Mass Communications
  • Must be fully bilingual Spanish/English, both written and spoken
  • Must be able to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, holidays and during natural disasters such as Hurricanes
  • Knowledge of iNews, video editing (such as Avid, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut), and file sharing systems.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and other non-editing business applications
  • Familiar with video and wire services
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Must work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Must be willing to work from office in Miami
  • Employment/education will be verified
  • Must be willing to submit to a background investigation
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
