SAP BTP Development Architect

Location & Work Arrangement

  • Primary Position: Hybrid role, preferably local to Corona, Southern California or neighboring areas. Candidates must be willing to relocate or travel to the client site 3 days per week initially, and as needed thereafter.

  • Secondary Position: Hybrid role in Illinois (similar requirements apply; local candidates preferred or willing to travel/relocate).

Job Summary

We seek a visionary, hands-on SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) Architect and Developer to spearhead enterprise cloud transformation and lead the SAP BTP Center of Excellence (CoE). This role blends deep technical expertise in SAP BTP with strategic leadership to drive innovation, standardization, and adoption across the organization.

Key Responsibilities1. Architecture & Solution Design

  • Design scalable, secure, high-performance solutions using SAP BTP services (Integration Suite, Extension Suite, HANA Cloud, AI Core).

  • Architect end-to-end solutions for application development, data management, integration, automation, and analytics.

  • Align SAP BTP architecture with enterprise IT strategy and business goals.

  • Lead technical assessments, quality reviews, proofs-of-concept, and solution evaluations.

  • Serve as SME with hands-on development in Extension Suite (UI5, Fiori, OData, CAPM, HANA).

  • Provide architectural guidance, best practices, and design validation.

2. Center of Excellence (CoE) Leadership

  • Establish and lead SAP BTP CoE for innovation, governance, and best practices.

  • Define CoE strategy, operating model, KPIs, and roadmap aligned with business/IT leadership.

  • Build and mentor cross-functional teams of SAP BTP experts, developers, and integration specialists.

  • Promote knowledge sharing, reusable assets, and standardized practices.

  • Deliver training, workshops, and certifications to upskill teams.

  • Act as escalation point for SAP BTP decisions and drive customer adoption.

3. BTP Delivery

  • Ensure quality, timely delivery of BTP projects in UI5/Fiori, CAPM, and OData.

  • Hands-on experience required in BTP UI5, Theme Designer, CAPM, OData, and HANA Cloud.

  • ABAP experience preferred.

4. Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Partner with business units, SAP teams, and vendors to gather requirements and deliver value.

  • Present recommendations and CoE outcomes to executives.

  • Stay current on SAP roadmaps and innovations.

5. Governance & Compliance

  • Enforce governance for security, performance, and lifecycle management.

  • Ensure compliance with data privacy, regulations, and audits.

  • Optimize costs, performance, and scalability of SAP BTP services.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, IT, or related field.

  • 15+ years in SAP architecture; 5+ years focused on SAP BTP.

  • Strong expertise in SAP CAP, Fiori/UI5, HANA Cloud.

  • Experience with SAP Integration Suite, API Management, Event Mesh.

  • Proficiency in cloud platforms (SAP BTP, Azure, AWS, GCP).

  • Deep knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, Git-based development.

  • UI/UX tools experience for design validation.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SAP BTP certification(s).

  • Industry experience in manufacturing, retail, or consumer goods/services.

  • Agile methodologies and tools (Jira, Confluence).
