Overview

SSOE is looking for an Assistant Project Manager for our Architecture team. This person will play a critical role in supporting projects within the industry for a diverse list of leading-edge clients. As an Assistant Project Manager, you will be responsible for supporting Project Managers leading multi-discipline design and architectural teams in both small and medium projects from scope development through complete design packages and complete project execution.

Responsibilities

The following duties are typical of the position, but are not all encompassing. Responsibilities include those required to deliver quality service on schedule and within budget in a team environment.

  • Assist Sr. Project Managers and/or Project Manager with day to day project tasks, staffing to fee, work plans, schedules, budgets, etc.
  • Assist in preparing project plans, budgets, control procedures, etc.
  • Manage one to two discipline "small" projects. (Under the supervision of a Project Manager or Sr. Project Manager).
  • Audits client billings for Project Manager approval.
  • May be the primary communication link between project teams, consultants and outsourcing partners.
  • Follows established procedures to effectively administer project, (i.e., construction cost estimating, correspondence, documents controls, etc.)
  • Communicates client's requirements to each discipline.
  • Participates on client contact and business development activities.
  • Participates in preparing proposals.
  • Assist in the collection of past due accounts.
  • May assist in the training of other Assistant Project Managers or project team members to familiarize them with SSOE or the client's specific requirements.
  • May attend client meetings to take meeting minutes and prepare for distribution.
  • Assist in logging Request for Information, (RFI), submittals, filing and productivity weekly project reports.
  • Assist in coordinating meetings and establishes all paper flow and document control with client, contractors, regulatory agencies and others involved.
  • May travel to other SSOE offices and/or client locations for coordination purposes or to provide training.
  • Coordinates printing and processing of bulletin and addendum assembly with Project Management Assistant, (PMA). Coordinates all printing, assembly and distribution of construction documents being issued for bids.
  • Coordinate the completion and distribution of client as-recorded drawings and project close out documents.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Valid driver's license required. May be waived for international assignments.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor Degree in Architecture which qualifies for licensure in the state of practice or an Associate degree in the architectural field is preferred.
  • CAPM Certification is encouraged.
  • A minimum one (1) year experience as an Architect 1 or a minimum three (3) years related experience.
  • Travel required.
  • Good facilitator with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experienced in the following software packages: (Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and CADD).
  • Salary Range: $70,000-$80,000/year depending on location, education, experience, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
