Job description

A career as a Reconciliations Director in the Capital Markets Operations Reconciliations team at National Bank means acting as a mobilizing leader who guides team direction, cohesion, and performance. This role allows you to have a positive impact on our organization through your knowledge of capital markets, your experience in people leadership, and your ability to strengthen controls, improve processes, and support operational excellence.

In this key leadership role, you will manage a team responsible for reconciliation activities related to Capital Markets operations and help ensure data integrity across transactional and accounting systems. You will contribute directly to the sectorโ€™s performance by improving efficiency, productivity, and control quality, while supporting your teamโ€™s growth through coaching and development.

Your role
  • Lead a team of approximately 10 to 15 professionals responsible for Capital Markets reconciliation activities.

  • Coach team members in their development by identifying learning opportunities and supporting their progression.

  • Ensure the quality, effectiveness, and continuity of reconciliation operations in collaboration with teams involved across the transaction lifecycle.

  • Contribute to transformation initiatives focused on process simplification, automation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

  • Oversee the implementation of new products and projects by ensuring strong controls, sound risk management, and reduced manual exceptions.

  • Represent your sector in cross-functional initiatives involving Capital Markets, Wealth Management, Technology, Risk Management, Front Office, and other business partners.

Prerequisites
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field, combined with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of people management experience.

  • Experience leading teams and managing relationships with multiple stakeholders.

  • Strong knowledge of Capital Markets processes, operations, and ecosystem.

  • Experience contributing to transformation initiatives, process improvement, automation, or operational control enhancement.

  • Ability to manage activities in a high-volume environment with demanding performance standards.

  • Proficiency with Jira and Confluence; experience with Power BI is considered an asset.
