Job description

Eversource supports work-life balance by offering hybrid schedules for certain roles. Eligibility is based on job responsibilities, operational needs, nature of work and team dynamics. Current guidelines require employees to workat least three days in the office, includingTuesdays and Wednesdays, with the third day set by the employee and supervisor based on department needs. These guidelines apply to roles approved for remote work and are subject to change, based on managerial discretion and work performance. All applicants must be able to workup to five days in the office if needed (for example: emergencies, training, or other business needs) or should the policy change.


Eversource is looking for a Senior Program Manager, Transmission in the Westwood, MA or Hartford, CT office. In this role you'll be responsible for developing, monitoring, and reporting on financial and schedule project controls metrics for the regional department in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, or Connecticut. The role will include collaborative development of comprehensive strategies for advancing projects, including developing and monitoring internal KPIs and analytics, external communications for weekly, monthly and quarterly reports and stakeholder relationship building in collaboration with other teams to support the department’s role in the Transmission organization. Will be expected to work collaboratively and coordinate with all relevant departments within the Company including Project Controls, Project Performance, Investment Planning, Accounting, and Scheduling.


Essential Functions

  • Assist Managers and Directors with annual budgeting and Long-Range Planning for both CAPEX and PIS, by month, quarter, and fiscal year.


  • Develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track and report on project progress. Indicators such as schedule key milestones, schedule critical, project forecast, and spent-to-date financials will be monitored against overall project budget.


  • Develop and maintain through coordination with project management a system of record for all project status, schedule, and financial performance. Ensure that overall project performance aligns with the Long-Range Plan of the current and future fiscal years.


  • Provide regional portfolio status reports to inform monthly workplan meetings and periodic report outs.


  • Provide general and project specific financial guidance for project level forecasting by project phase in alignment with year-end targets.


  • Identify and organize department risk(s) by project and track mitigation plans and progress – ensure project forecasts are updated monthly to align with current status and mitigation strategy & status.


  • Coordinate between project management and eBuilder on formal project records and project assignment requests.


  • Identify department level training needs and then develop and/or facilitate training with SMEs


  • Provide financial management training and mentorship to new employees to ensure consistency with department practices and Eversource procedures.


  • Meet regularly with management to discuss financial action items, current department forecast in comparison with budget, key variances and reasons, action items for future forecasting.



Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications

  • Excellent technical, quantitative, and analytical skills.

  • Familiarity with the utility industry is required, work experience at an ISO/RTO a plus.

  • Demonstrates strong analytical skills, ability to apply knowledge to solve problems, strong team building skills, and interest in managing and developing talent.


  • General understanding of FERC and / or New England state energy regulation desirable.


  • Valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s License is required.



Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Economics, Finance, Business, Statistics, Math, or related discipline



Experience

  • Minimum of four (4) to six (6) years of related experience



Working Conditions

  • Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.


  • Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
