We are seeking aย Business Development Specialist to spearhead deal origination, drive new client acquisition, and expand our market presence. This role is dedicated to generating high-quality leads and building lasting relationships with decision-makers. This role is fully remote within the U.S. for candidates located outside the New York City area.ย 

Key Responsibilities

  • Deal Origination: Identify, engage, and qualify prospective clients (business owners, Centers of Influences, and corporates) to generate M&A advisory mandates
  • Market Coverage: Develop a strong presence across target industries through proactive outreach, networking, and thought leadership.
  • Relationship Development: Build and maintain senior-level relationships with stakeholders including entrepreneurs, and advisors (wealth management firms, law firms, accounting firms, consultants).
  • Lead Generation: Drive the firm's outbound business development efforts-cold calling, targeted campaigns, event participation, and partnership building.
  • Partnerships: Establish and cultivate referral relationships with intermediaries, industry associations, and strategic partners.
  • Thought Leadership: Represent the firm at conferences, panels, and networking events to enhance visibility and credibility.
  • Collaboration with Deal Teams: Work closely with M&A execution teams to transition prospects into mandates and ensure consistent client experience.
  • CRM & Reporting: Track origination activities, maintain pipeline metrics, and provide regular updates on progress against business development goals.

Qualifications

  • Experience:
    • 8+ years of experience in business development, origination, or client-facing roles within M&A advisory, investment banking, private equity, corporate development, or professional services.
    • Demonstrated track record of sourcing and winning mandates in the mid-market M&A space.
  • Skills & Attributes:
    • Exceptional network-building and deal origination capabilities.
    • Deep understanding of M&A processes and transaction lifecycle.
    • Highly entrepreneurial and self-motivated, with ability to thrive in a results-driven environment.
