Position Title: SATCOM Engineer Entry

Clearance Level: Secret 

Location: Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), MD

Education Requirement:

· BS in Engineering, Testing, or a related field.

· Engineering discipline preferred.

Experience Requirement:

· No specific experience required.

· BS can be substituted with an additional 4 years of related experience performing SATCOM engineering functions.

Job Description: The SATCOM Engineer Entry position focuses on providing technical support and expertise in the design and analysis of satellite communication (SATCOM) systems. The candidate will support the development of system architectures, perform technical evaluations, and contribute to design reviews of satellite and terminal systems. This role requires working closely with multiple stakeholders across the Army's Tactical Network, including PM TN, PEO C3T, and other Army organizations.

Duties include:

· Provide in-depth technical assessments and analysis of activities within and between SATCOM programs.

· Support the design of system architectures, terminals, waveforms, and access protocols.

· Conduct performance analysis, including system throughput, response time, operational requirements, and system loading.

· Perform systems engineering evaluations of satellite and terminal designs.

· Participate in proposal reviews and technical evaluations for satellite systems.

· Support design reviews and evaluate satellite and terminal contractor designs.

· Coordinate technical discussions within PM TN and with external stakeholders such as PEO C3N, Army Strategic Command (ARSTRAT), Army Capabilities Manager (ACM), and industry vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

· Translate complex technical issues into clear, meaningful terms for others involved in the program.

· Serve as a subject matter expert in transmission technologies, including modulation and coding, link budgets, radio frequency (RF) equipment, antennas, waveforms, blockage mitigation, and relevant algorithms/protocols.

· Support design and performance evaluations to ensure SATCOM systems meet operational requirements.

· Work collaboratively with Army stakeholders and industry vendors to advance SATCOM capabilities.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

· Familiarity with SATCOM engineering functions, including transmission, waveforms, antennas, and RF systems.

· Ability to perform technical analysis and system evaluations.

· Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to various stakeholders.

· Knowledge of Army organizational structures and experience working with organizations such as PEO C3N and ARSTRAT is a plus.

Work Schedule:

· Full-time position, standard 40-hour workweek.
