Position Summary

Career Readiness Learning Objectives:

Critical Thinking-The student will gather and analyze the information from the literature and identify the proper solution to the existing problems. It is expected that the student worker will summarize and interpret experimental data, and also prioritize the action steps.
Communication-Clearly and effectively exchange information, ideas, facts, and perspectives with persons inside and outside of an organization.
Teamwork-Build and maintain collaborative relationships to work effectively toward common goals, while appreciating diverse viewpoints and shared responsibilities.
This position provides laboratory and research support to Dr. Liu Cao in the Environmental Science & Engineering department. Students may work on multiple research projects with Dr. Cao assisting in tasks including field sample collection, laboratory processing of samples, water quality analysis, air quality analysis, chemical and biological analysis if environmental samples, data management and analysis.

Required Qualifications
  • Full-time undergraduate student majoring in environmental science, environmental engineering, or students who took college-level chemistry courses.
  • Ability to multitask and work independently.
  • Good organizational skills and reliability.
  • Good academic standing at the university.
Preferred Qualifications Physical Demands
This position requires minimal physical demands, but applicants should be able to safely lift 40 pounds and sit and/or stand for extended periods.
