Job description

Summary:

At Gregory Forrest Lester, Inc, we are rooted in Cincinnati-Area tree care and landscaping. We are a third-generation, family-owned and operated company that puts safety and education first. We are looking for a Tree Work Groundman to support our tree climbers and bucket truck operators from the ground. In this role, you will be essential to our daily operations by ensuring a safe job site, operating ground equipment, and managing debris clearance. This role is an excellent opportunity to enter the rewarding and growing field of arboriculture. If you thrive in a team setting and are eager to advance your career, this position is for you.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the job-site by setting up cones, signs, and safety barriers; maintain a clear and secure perimeter around dropping zones
  • Assist tree climbers by rigging gear and passing tools/equipment up to the canopy
  • Safely operate and maintain chainsaws, wood chippers, leafblowers, and hand tools
  • Clear the client's property of debris by dragging brush, heavy logs, and raking debris, ensuring the area is left pristine
  • Work closely with crew leaders and team members to complete jobs efficiently
  • Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities

Requirements:

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly
  • Ability to work safely and effectively in a team setting
