Job description

Duties Description The incumbent of this position will support the Office of Cannabis Management's scientific programs and research initiatives, working closely with scientists, external partners, study participants, and regulatory bodies to support the development and implementation of research studies. Duties include, but are not limited to: Develop educational resources and outreach materials on programs, policies, regulations, and opportunities related to cannabis science and research. Review and analyze incoming data from research studies, stakeholders, agency partners, and federal sources for use in publications, presentations, outreach materials, and legislative reports.

Respond to inquiries from applicants, study participants, and other stakeholders regarding health-related concerns in accordance with agency policies. Prepare workplans, timelines, and status reports on research assignments for the Office of Cannabis Management executives and managers. Conduct intake, monitoring and analysis of data, or other information as assigned, escalating findings requiring further action or regulatory attention.

Facilitate scheduling and coordination of research study visits, assessments, and follow-up activities, ensuring adherence to study protocols and timelines. Support development of research related documents and standard operating procedures (SOPs), including protocol amendments and informed consent materials. Assist in preparing and maintaining accurate and complete study records including source documents, regulatory binders, and participant files in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines.

Assist with the review and evaluation of applications, protocols, and reports submitted by cannabis research licensees and applicants; communicate with applicants to resolve application deficiencies. Support recruitment, screening, and informed consent processes for study participants, ensuring eligibility criteria and ethical standards are met. Assist with adverse event tracking, reporting, and documentation in accordance with agency requirements.

Assist with Health & Scientific Affairs related projects as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Six years of experience where your major job responsibilities included one of the following: accounting and auditing; investigating or inspecting regulated entities and facilities; interpreting and explaining policies, rules, regulations, or laws to organizations, government or corporate officials, or individuals; policy analysis and research; surveillance; quality assurance that included evaluating whether projects met or are meeting requirements that included risk assessment; providing professional level economic development products or services; community outreach which included vulnerable populations; negotiating or approving contracts or agreements with suppliers, distributors, federal or state agencies, or other administrative control processes. Substitution: An associate degree may substitute for two years of experience; a bachelor's degree may substitute for four years of experience; a master's degree may substitute for five years of experience; and a doctorate may substitute for six years of experience.

NOTE: IN ORDER TO AWARD THE PROPER CREDIT FOR WORK EXPERIENCE, RESUMES MUST INCLUDE MONTH AND YEAR FOR START AND END DATES. IF ANY OF THIS EXPERIENCE IS LESS THAN FULL TIME YOU MUST INDICATE THE AVERAGE NUMBER OF HOURS WORKED PER WEEK. Additional Comments NOTES: Travel may be required (approximately 15%), including during evening and weekends, depending on mission and assignment.
