THIS IS A SEASONAL POSITION WITH NO BENEFITS THAT RUNS FROM MARCH THROUGH OCTOBER.
DIVISION: Administration
JOB SUMMARY:
Employees in this class are responsible for the concession operation at Cane Creek Park, including paddleboat, fishing boat and canoe rental; and greeting and assisting people that use shelters.
Examples of work performed: Operates concession stand, rents boats and equipment; greets and assists visitors at shelters; provides information regarding park amenities; cleans shelters and empties trash after each rental and hose down daily; cleans restroom facilities and outlying picnic tables and trash receptacles; assists with special events held in the park; closes and secures park as scheduled; performs other duties as required. Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of concessions operation
Knowledge of policies and operations of Cane Creek Park
Ability to operate cash register
Ability to communicate effectively with the public
Ability to work effectively with department staff regarding recreation programs and special events
Ability to work in all weather conditions
Ability to react quickly in potential injury situations
Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with co-workers and the public
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A valid TN driver's license and ability to deal effectively with the public are required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Some experience in concession operation or working with money is preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Physical:
Must be able to handle complaints and problems regarding customers. Must be able to do light lifting. Will be using cleaning supplies such as: detergents, brooms, mops, etc.
Environmental:
Must be able to work in all weather conditions and assist with special events.
