Job description

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Augusta, GA is seeking a full-time Emergency Service Head Veterinarian (ERSH) who will work alongside our ER Clinicians, Specialists, and Leadership Team to ensure the highest quality medicine and services for pets and our community.

The Emergency Service Head is a clinically practicing manager of the hospital’s ER Clinician team.

As supervisor to ER Clinicians, the role is responsible for all day-to-day matters impacting direct reports including scheduling, hiring, training, mentoring, facilitating regular ER meetings, and representing the ER team as a hospital leader. The incumbent works during a variety of shifts to support the team and collaborates with the Medical Director to ensure the highest level of patient care.

What you need to excel in this role at BluePearl :

  • DVM from accredited university required.

  • Successful completion of rotating internship or the BluePearl’s EmERge program required.

  • 2+ years of clinical experience required.

  • Must possess valid applicable DVM licensure.

  • Demonstrated capacity to multitask and successfully manage competing priorities required.

  • Prior shift lead experience preferred.

  • Strong leadership ability with excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated stress tolerance and attention to detail.

  • Strong ability to mentor and train less experienced Clinicians and Interns.
