Certified Medication Aide (CMA)

Job Summary

We are currently seeking a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to provide high-quality patient care in our long-term care, nursing home, and rehabilitation center settings. As a CMA, you will be responsible for administering medications to residents, monitoring for side effects, providing patient comfort, and reporting observations to nursing supervisors.

Responsibilities

  • Administer medications to residents accurately and in accordance with physician orders and state regulations

  • Document medication administration and maintain accurate medication records

  • Monitor residents for side effects or adverse reactions and report findings to nursing supervisors

  • Provide patient comfort by utilizing resources and materials

  • Answer patients' call lights and requests

  • Report observations to nursing supervisors

  • Complete forms, reports, logs, and records

Requirements

  • Must be a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) in good standing in the state employed

  • Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification may be required, depending on state regulations

  • Experience with geriatric patients is a plus!

  • Successful completion of a training and competency evaluation program required

  • Completion of orientation required by company policy

  • Health screening and TB test (if required) within two weeks of employment

  • Mandatory drug test within 90 days of hire

  • Must be free of criminal activity proven by a criminal background check

  • Become familiar with and comply to all local, state, and federal regulations relating
