Job description

Human Resources HR Specialist, Canada
Position Overview - The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) serves as the primary HR contact for all Canadian business operations, providing comprehensive support across talent acquisition, employee relations, compliance, and day-to-day HR services. This role ensures that all HR practices align with Canadian employment legislation and supports employees and leaders across Sales, Service, and corporate functions. Fluency in French and English is required.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
  • Lead full-cycle recruitment for all Canadian roles, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and selection.
  • Develop creative and effective recruitment strategies tailored to the Canadian talent market.
  • Oversee onboarding and orientation processes to ensure a seamless experience for new hires.
  • Support local talent management initiatives and cultural engagement activities.

Employee Relations & HR Advisory
  • Act as the primary resource for employee relations matters across Canadian teams.
  • Partner with managers to assess team health, anticipate challenges, and implement proactive solutions.
  • Provide guidance on conflict resolution, performance management, and policy interpretation.
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with employees and leaders at all levels.

Compliance & HR Policy Administration
  • Apply deep knowledge of Canadian employment law, provincial regulations, and HR best practices.
  • Interpret and administer HR policies, employee handbooks, and benefits programs within the Canadian context.
  • Ensure HR processes align with federal and provincial legislation, including Québec requirements where applicable.

Benefits, Leaves & Employee Support
  • Guide managers and employees through their responsibilities during leave periods, ensuring compliance and clear communication.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure timely follow-up on all employee inquiries.

Required Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • HR certification (e.g., CHRP, CPHR, SHRM-CP) considered an asset and may substitute for degree requirements.
  • Minimum 5 years of HR Business Partner experience, preferably supporting field-based or distributed teams.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Canadian employment law and employee relations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Fluency in French and English (written and spoken).
  • Strong proficiency with SAP, SuccessFactors an asset
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and with empathy.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, remote environment while supporting multiple stakeholders across Canada.
