What is the opportunity?
The Head of Technology Infrastructure Group (CUSO) provides senior leadership and horizontal influence across the RBC US operations to drive the delivery of secure, scalable, and resilient technology infrastructure services. This role focuses on enabling superior member experiences, regulatory compliance, and competitive digital capabilities by shaping strategy, enhancing service delivery, and fostering collaboration across multiple lines of business and enterprise functions in a dynamic financial landscape.
This position influences the harmonization and optimization of technology infrastructure services, emphasizing service excellence, operational efficiency, cybersecurity strength, and seamless delivery through cross-enterprise impact and partnership.
What will you do?
U.S. Technology Senior Leadership Team Guidance
  • Influence the development and execution of the long-term technology infrastructure strategy by advising and championing forward-looking solutions. Promote the objectives of confidentiality, integrity, and availability, and meets the entity's business objectives.
  • Drive effective delivery of enterprise-grade technology infrastructure services-including networks, servers, storage, endpoints, data centers, and hybrid cloud platforms-by collaborating across teams to ensure high availability, performance, and security of critical systems supporting core processing, digital banking and payments
  • Influence and champion an enterprise-wide cybersecurity and risk management approach focused on threat detection, vulnerability management, incident response, and compliance with FFIEC, and other US regulatory standards to safeguard data and protect infrastructure through cross-functional collaboration in a highly regulated multi-client financial
  • Develop, document, and implement infrastructure controls, standards, and procedures to safeguard facilities, technology, data, and personnel. Coordinate services between the data processing area and other departments
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and security of critical systems supporting core processing, digital banking, payments, and member services.
  • Represent US Technology Infrastructure in relevant governance forums, management committees and regulators. Act as single point of contact and escalation for all infrastructure technology matters
  • Own, develop and report of US specific KPI, KRI, KCI including regulatory, audit and risk remediation activities
  • Oversee IT Asset Management processes to track, manage, and report on the firm's information and technology assets
  • Implement and maintain strong controls for data protection, access management, and infrastructure security in a highly regulated financial environment
  • Contribute to operational efficiency and service optimization by supporting cost-effective delivery models, automation, and modernization initiatives while helping ensure consistent achievement of service level agreements and high client satisfaction
  • Influence and support the development of a high-performing, geographically distributed team of infrastructure engineers, architects, security professionals, and operations staff while promoting a collaborative, innovative, service-oriented culture

What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
  • 12+ years of deep IT risk tech infrastructure experience in a global Financial Institution
  • Experience leading key capabilities of tech infrastructure organization such as hosting, network, storage, middleware, 24x7 operational support and business continuity
  • Deep understanding of US & Canadian regulatory environment including reporting requirements.
  • Vast experience building and managing an enterprise size organization with emphasis on large programs or multiple projects with multiple interfaces and/or 3rd parties.
  • Proven experience leading and successfully delivering programs with very high level of value (benefit/cost), complexity and uncertainty.
  • Expert level Influencing, Negotiating, Communication, Presentation and Facilitation skills.
  • Demonstrated change management capabilities, including enablement, and stakeholdering.
  • Innate people management skills related to talent management process (recruitment/selection, performance management, performance development/coaching, reward/ recognition)

The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $200,000 - $340,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate's experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs. This salary range does not include other elements that comprise our total compensation package, which includes the following: commission sharing eligibility for select roles, a discretionary bonus, a paid time-off plan, our 401(k) program with company-matching contributions, and our health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance.
