Sr. Controls Engineers lead the design, architecture and structure of the program while mentoring Jr. Engineers and solving problems. Our Sr. Controls Engineers are the keys to making multi-million-dollar systems a success.
What would a typical day be like?
  • Controls Engineer will work on various stages of automation and control projects including: electrical design, PLC programming, HMI and SCADA design and development, Networking design and troubleshooting/testing/debugging
  • Provide written functional requirement specifications and sequence of operation documents
  • Interface with Mechanical and Electrical engineering to develop robust and efficient to program designs over multiple projects.
  • Mentor controls engineers in technical aspects
  • Assist others remotely
  • Assist in the development of programming estimates
  • Deep dive into programming details of controls engineers to troubleshoot issues
  • Write PLC programs for newly developed machines using templates and programming standards
  • Enforce the use of programming standards and templates
  • Debug and commission machines
  • Deliver an extraordinary customer experience by interfacing with clients and project managers to provide status updates, attend client field service and emergency calls, partake in customer meetings, and ability to share your technical expertise

What qualifies you for this opportunity?
  • A go-to resource for other PLC programmers
  • The ability to take charge of a situation, find the proper solution and lead a team to its execution
  • Mastery of PLC programming.

  • Experience with motion control, servo drives, and VFDs.
  • A detailed understanding of connecting with and utilizing vision systems, laser systems, MES systems, or Warehouse Systems (WES, WMS, or WCS)

  • Desire and ability to help others troubleshoot remotely exercising patience and understanding.
  • Reliable transportation and an ability to travel; Controls Engineers at CGX should have the ability to travel within the US and Canada
  • Engineering graduate in Electrical, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, Systems Design, or equivalent experience/technical degree

Physical Demands:
  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to feel objects, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, talk and hear.
  • Occasionally lifts or move up to 25 pounds
