The US Customs Coordinator will support import-export operations and ensure adherence to U.S. trade regulations. This role involves coordinating import-export activities,maintainingcompliance documentation, and collaborating with brokers and internal teams for efficient customs clearance.

Primary responsibilities
  • UnderstandCustomsenvironment: Productstariff classification, country of origin and related duty applications.
  • Calculate duty impact todeterminetheappropriate typeof entry intheU.S.
  • Act as the primary contact for US Customs operations matters.
  • Issue export documentationand proactively follow-up onall orders shipped out of U.S.including FedEx shipments.
  • Prepare customs documentation for theweeklyequipmenttransfers to our Canadian division.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of TIB and ATA US Carnets: Prepare all related documents and proactively follow up and close them correctly.
  • Assistotherinternationaldepartments with import and export inquiries.
  • Verifyand approveACH preliminary reportand brokerage invoices.
  • Collaborate with external partners (freight forwarders and customs brokers) to ensure smooth export operations.
  • Participateactivelyinweeklyoperational meetings and various salesandasset managementmeetingsto ensure that our customs needs are met within the prescribedtime frameaccording to projects.
  • Update asset information and track inventoryin R2 (our equipmentandlogisticsmanagement system)whenequipment or packages are intransit fromour different offices;advisemanagement andthe AssetManagement teamofallnecessary moves toremain compliant.
  • Collaborateto improveandmaintainpolicies and procedures related to import and export with Global Trade Compliance.
  • Perform all othercustomsrelated tasksrequired by the Customs Manager or Asset Management Director.
Your profile:
  • Certified Customs Specialist (CCS)
  • Bachelor’degree inlogistics,international business, supply chainmanagementor equivalent qualification withdemonstratedcompetencypreferred.
  • Minimumoffive(5)yearsof experienceinU.S. and international
  • Customsandimport/export operations.
  • Competence in interpreting Customs terminology, clearance process,customsdocumentsand product classification (tariff codes).
  • ACE portalexperience user.
  • Proficient knowledge of Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • General technical knowledge of all theaudio-visualindustry(an asset)
  • Knowledge of the R2 inventory software (an asset)

  • Strong attention to detail:Crucial foraccuracy in documentation, tariff codes, and ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Proactive.
  • Ability to work under pressurein an international teamand adapt tochange.
  • Ability to manage several taskssimultaneously.
  • Strongverbal and written communication skills are necessary to coordinate with clients, customs authorities, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze and solveproblems.

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Highly developed sense of organization.
  • Teamworkoriented.

  • On site 4 days a week and 1 day remote.
