What We're Looking For:

As a Computer Vision Software Developer II you will work on Computer Vision projects turning Zebra's core algorithms from prototypes to high quality product ready code. You will design and implement strategies for optimizing computer vision algorithms for different hardware architectures (e.g. x86, GPU, multi-core ARM CPU, AI accelerator) based on performance, power and size constraints. Work is evaluated upon completion to ensure objectives have been met.
Location- ***Role is required to be onsite in the Montreal, Canada office. (Hybrid- Minimum of 3 days in the office per week).Responsibilities:

• Development of turning prototyped computer vision and deep learning algorithms into high-quality product ready code

• Design and provide strategies for optimizing computer vision algorithms for different embedded system and mobile devices

• Participate and provide input in project code reviews

• Receive general instructions to routine work, new projects or assignments

• Design and/or review architected modules and software systems supporting new technology or improving capability/performance of existing functionality

• Take responsibility for communicating with different engineers (embedded systems, backend server, computer vision) to continuously improve and optimize implemented algorithms

• Create automated software tests and provide support to trouble shoot software issues when needed

• Documentation of software architecture

Qualifications:

Minimum:

• Bachelor's degree required or preferred a Masters in Computer Engineering/Computer Science or related field.

• 2+ years of work experience

• Basic understanding of computer vision; key areas of interest: image classification, segmentation, anomaly detection, object detection, OCR

• Strong C, Modern C++ and Python programming skills

Preferred:

• Knowledge on inference libraries: ONNX RT, OpenVINO, TensorRT, LiteRT

• Optimization experience on embedded GPU and AI accelerator platforms: Nvidia, ARM

• Parallelized & vectorized computation

• Knowledge on training libraries: PyTorch, Tensorflow

• GPU programming experience using CUDA or Open CL

• Knowledge in Vision-Language Models (VLMs), Vision Transformers (ViTs) and advanced CNNs is an asset

• Experience in using GenAI development tools (GitHub Copilot) is an asset

• French language skills are preferred

Responsabilites :

• Transformer des algorithmes de vision par ordinateur et d'apprentissage profond au stade de prototype en code de haute qualite pret pour la production.

• Concevoir et proposer des strategies pour l'optimisation d'algorithmes de vision par ordinateur pour differents systemes embarques et appareils mobiles.

• Participer aux revisions de code des projets et y apporter sa contribution.

• Recevoir des instructions generales pour le travail courant, les nouveaux projets ou les nouvelles affectations.

• Concevoir et/ou reviser des modules et des systemes logiciels qui soutiennent les nouvelles technologies ou qui ameliorent la capacite et la performance des fonctionnalites existantes.

• Assurer la communication avec les differents ingenieurs (systemes embarques, serveur dorsal, vision par ordinateur) afin d'ameliorer et d'optimiser continuellement les algorithmes mis en uvre.

• Creer des tests logiciels automatises et fournir un soutien pour la resolution des problemes logiciels au besoin.

• Documenter l'architecture logicielle.

Qualifications :
Exigences minimales :

• Baccalaureat requis ; une maitrise en genie informatique, en informatique ou dans un domaine connexe est preferable.

• Plus de 2 ans d'experience professionnelle.

• Comprehension de base de la vision par ordinateur ; domaines d'interet cles : classification d'images, segmentation, detection d'anomalies, detection d'objets, ROC (reconnaissance optique de caracteres).

• Solides competences en programmation C, C++ moderne et Python.

Qualifications souhaitees :

• Connaissance des bibliotheques d'inference : ONNX RT, OpenVINO, TensorRT, LiteRT.

• Experience en optimisation sur des plateformes de GPU embarques ou d'accelerateurs d'IA : Nvidia, ARM.

• Calcul parallelise et vectorise.

• Connaissance des bibliotheques d'entrainement : PyTorch, Tensorflow.

• Experience en programmation GPU avec CUDA ou OpenCL.

• La connaissance des modeles vision-langage (VLM), des transformateurs de vision (ViT) et des reseaux neuronaux convolutifs (CNN) avances est un atout.

• L'experience avec les outils de developpement d'IA generative (GitHub Copilot) est un atout.

• La maitrise de la langue francaise est souhaitable.

Pay Range:

$90,960.00 - $136,440.00 Annual

Incentive Compensation:

In addition to base pay, Zebra offers this role the opportunity to earn a performance-based annual cash incentive, at a target equal to 10% of base pay, in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
