Admissions Tour Guide

Salary/Position Classification
  • $14.00 Hourly, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)
  • 5-10 hours per week

Purpose of Position

This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Tour Guides are the first, and often, lasting impression for campus visitors
  • Greet and assist with checking-in visitors at the Admissions office front desk
  • Assist an Admissions Representative in providing a half hour long overview about UND and student life, followed by an hour-long campus tour to prospective students and families
Minimum Requirements
  • Requires 2nd semester Freshman status level (or above) 
  • Must have a 2.5+ GPA
  • Successful completion of a UND student conduct check
    • Applicants must be in good conduct standing with the University. Students may not be on conduct probation prior to or at the time of hire and during tenure of position. Placement on conduct probation is grounds for immediate dismissal. Applicants must sign a release for the Office of Student Rights & Responsibilities to verify this.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass the driver's training requirement
  • Enrolled in a minimum of 1 credit for the employed academic semester
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Leadership abilities
  • Able to work as part of a diverse team.
  • Ability to be on feet and provide a one-hour tour, potentially a couple times per day.
  • Guides are required to follow the UND Student Code of Conduct, the Training Manual and the Dress Code.

In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the US and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
