Position Title: Camp Counselor
Position Description: As a Camp Counselor, you will live with the campers and other co-counselors in a cabin, responsible for ensuring your campers have an unforgettable experience while also maintaining their safety, health, and hygiene. You will need to communicate and work well with children and other camp staff, guide and supervise campers with a level head, patience, and enthusiasm. The ideal Camp Counselor is an individual with high moral character and a strong work ethic. We expect our staff members to be excellent role models for our campers.
This is a fantastic opportunity to grow both personally and professionally while having fun and making meaningful connections. It is a rewarding experience with many perks, including:

This is a seven (7) week summer position, running from June 21st to August 8th, with the possibility of extending work into October. Camp Counselors are required to live onsite, work weekends, and have full availability during this time frame.
Camp Counselor and Activity Specialist applicants must be 19 years of age or older. As a condition of employment, all applicants must pass the Camp Akiba staff screening process which includes criminal background checks, Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance (PACA), Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record check (PSPCRC), and FBI fingerprinting. Camp Akiba is a smoke-free environment and maintains a zero-tolerance policy prohibiting the use, possession, distribution, or being under the influence of drugs or alcohol on camp property or during any camp-related activities, regardless of age or legal status.
