They create a safe, fun, and inclusive environment while leading games, crafts, outdoor adventures, and group discussions. Camp counsellors also help manage campers’ well-being, resolve conflicts, and serve as role models. Their main goal is to ensure campers have a positive and memorable camp experience.

What skills and qualifications are needed to be a camp counsellor?

To thrive as a Camp Counsellor, you need strong leadership, problem-solving abilities, and experience working with children, often supported by first aid certification. Familiarity with activity planning tools, safety protocols, and communication platforms is typically required. Outstanding camp counsellors demonstrate patience, creativity, and excellent interpersonal skills to build trust and foster a positive environment. These skills ensure campers' safety, engagement, and personal growth, making for a rewarding and effective camp experience.

What challenges do camp counsellors face and how can they handle them?

Camp Counsellors often navigate challenges such as managing group dynamics, addressing homesickness among campers, and ensuring safety during various activities. Effective communication, empathy, and strong organizational skills are essential for building trust and resolving conflicts.
