Job description

Posted Job Title:  Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach, Athletics

Job Description:  The Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at Cameron University, an NCAA Division II institution in the Lone Star Conference, reports directly to the Head Women’s Basketball Coach. This is a 12-month, full-time position with a comprehensive employee benefit package. All members of the Athletic Staff are expected to be team players supporting each other while promoting the mission of the University, supporting the philosophy of the Athletic Department, and assuring the well-being of all student athletes. 

1.  Job Duties as Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach (.90 FTE) include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with practice planning and game strategy
  • On-court instruction during practices and games.
  • Recruitment of qualified student athletes.
  • Scouting opponents and video breakdown and analysis
  • Active involvement in community service activities.
  • Participation in team fundraising activities
  • Monitor the academic success of the student athletes.
  • Other duties as assigned by the head coach.

2.  Secondary duties as a Special Assistant to the Athletic Director (.10 FTE) include, but are not limited to:

  • Game administration

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1.  Bachelor’s Degree

2.  High school or college coaching experience

3.  Ability and willingness to work nights and weekends

4.  Travel required
