Technical Sales Representative - Infrastructure Camera Equipment

New York, United States

About the Role

We are seeking an Outside Technical Sales Representative to join our team. This role is responsible for driving sales of our underground inspection equipment across an established and highpotential territory (New York State).

This individual will serve as a knowledgeable product ambassador and trusted solutions provider for our customers. You’ll work closely with contractors, municipalities, utilities, and inspection professionals to understand their needs and recommend the right technologies to support their operations.

What You’ll Do

  • Daily travel required throughout assigned Territory to meet with customers, sell product, provide demonstrations
  • Drive sales growth within the assigned territory by achieving and exceeding annual revenue targets.
  • Develop, manage, and expand relationships with existing customers through regular account visits and technical support.
  • Identify, prospect, and secure new business opportunities across the territory.
  • Provide technical product expertise, consultations, and recommendations to support customer applications and requirements.
  • Conduct product demonstrations, presentations, and hands-on training for customers and end users.
  • Collaborate closely with Territory Sales Managers, Inside Sales, Service, and Parts teams to deliver exceptional customer support and solutions.
  • Serve as the primary technical resource for customers, providing product updates, troubleshooting guidance, and application support.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and training programs to promote products and maintain industry knowledge.
  • Prepare accurate sales forecasts, territory plans, and performance reports to support business objectives.
  • Maintain detailed customer interactions, sales opportunities, and account activity within the CRM system in accordance with company processes.

  • Base salary range: $75,000.00 + Quarterly Bonus Opportunity = Total annual target compensation of >$100,000.00

Position Details

Location: The ideal candidate must reside within commuting distance to a Joe Johnson Equipment branch in New York

Status: Permanent

Schedule: Monday-Friday - occasional extended hours may be required based on operational needs.

  • Self-motivated, results-oriented professional who can work independently, manage a territory effectively, and achieve sales objectives.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and technology-based solutions; experience with inspection camera software, PACP, LACP, and MACP is considered an asset.

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Hold or be willing to obtain valid passport to allow for travel within North America as required
  • Must have valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check

Work Environment

  • Primarily municipal customer environment including working on and near streets, highways, and other infrastructure related environments
  • Will work with equipment that operates in sanitary and storm sewers
  • Some office work
