Laptop & Computer Buyer

Location: Brooklyn, NY

Focus Camera is seeking an experienced Laptop & Computer Buyer to lead purchasing

and assortment strategy for one of our emerging categories. This role is responsible for

sourcing, negotiating, and managing relationships with major manufacturers, distributors,

and sub-distributors while driving profitable growth across e-comm third party marketplace, Shopify, and direct to consumer channels.

The ideal candidate understands the unique dynamics of the consumer electronics

industry and has a proven track record purchasing laptops, desktops, and computer

accessories for high-volume online retail.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute purchasing strategies for laptops, desktops, and related

computer products.

  • Build and maintain relationships with leading manufacturers, authorized

distributors, and sub-distributors.

  • Negotiate pricing, rebates, marketing programs, payment terms, and inventory

allocations.

  • Identify profitable purchasing opportunities, including closeouts and special buys.
  • Manage inventory levels to maximize in-stock position while minimizing excess and

aging inventory.

  • Analyze sales trends, marketplace pricing, competitive activity, and profitability to

make data-driven purchasing decisions.

  • Partner with Marketing, Pricing, Marketplace, and Operations teams to optimize

product launches and promotional events.

  • Expand vendor relationships and identify new product opportunities that support

company growth initiatives.

  • Maintain awareness of market trends, product launches, and competitive

landscape within the PC industry.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of purchasing or procurement experience within the computer category.
  • Demonstrated experience buying laptops, desktops, monitors, docks, or related

computing products.

  • Extensive experience working with major brands, authorized distributors, and subdistributors.
  • Strong understanding of e-commerce and marketplace retail, including Amazon,

Walmart, eBay, Shopify, and other online channels.

  • Experience managing vendor negotiations, pricing strategy, inventory planning, and

promotional programs.

  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven purchasing decisions.
  • Strong Excel and reporting skills; experience with ERP systems and inventory

management platforms preferred.

  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Existing relationships with leading PC manufacturers and distribution partners.
  • Experience purchasing brands such as Dell, HP, Lenovo, ASUS, Acer, LG, Samsung,

Microsoft, MSI, Intel, AMD, and Apple.

  • Familiarity with marketplace pricing tools, channel strategy, and MAP compliance.
  • Experience sourcing through distribution as well as secondary and closeout

channels.
