Job description

• Ability to understand, modify and write software to automate data acquisition and analysis, using Python, MATLAB, Excel (or other COM-capable languages
Roles & Responsibilities
As a sensor Image Quality and Characterization engineer, you will execute image quality evaluation and characterization tests both in the lab and in the real world, with particular emphasis on AV Camera performance. In addition, you will own the analysis of the test data as well as the reporting of results to the key stakeholders in the camera team. Core responsibilities will include not only the application of currently existing testing methodologies but also the conception and development of new ones to meet Image Quality and Characterization needs. Proficiency with python will be a key requirement for this role in order to drive test setups and perform data analysis. Excellent communication skills will also be key in order to align on testing needs and convey key results effectively.
Example Duties:
• Execute hands-on testing for Camera Image Quality performance tests.
• Maintain suitable bench characterization testing code and test equipment for Camera IQ Characterization, using sound and robust IQ and optical design principles.
• Create or refine testing software in support of efficient, fast data acquisition and automated visualization.
• Analyze data and report findings using statistical data analysis methods.
• Write detailed technical reports on characterization results, and recommendations for needed actions.
• Conceive of and develop new test setups and methodologies to expand validation and characterization capabilities.
Desired Skills and Experience:
• Solid knowledge of basic image sensor operation, Image Quality and electronics fundamentals and prior application in a lab setting.
• Hands-on experience working in a lab environment, creating, maintaining and operating sensitive measurement setups for quality data acquisition.
• Knowledge of basic electrical circuit principles and design, CMOS Image Sensor structure and operation, including basic analog circuits and CMOS image sensor architecture.
• Understanding of imaging/camera system level design and considerations.
• Experience with imaging related lab hardware: light sources, lux meters, test charts, opto-mechanical components, optical filters (bandpass, IR cut-off), lenses.
• Ability to understand, modify and write software to automate data acquisition and analysis, using Python, MATLAB, Excel (or other COM-capable languages).
• Statistical data analysis: measures of central tendency, variation and uncertainty. Use of statistical software.
• Self-discipline, initiative, and motivation with the ability to work with limited direct supervision. Diligent attention to detail with a strong commitment to do the job right the first time.
• Technical creativity and innovative thinking, maintaining a professional, organized, and clean lab environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
