Position Overview

A dental laboratory in Calgary is seeking a CAD/CAM Digital Designer to join its team full-time onsite. This opportunity is ideal for a digital technician with 3 to 5 years of experience in dental design, particularly someone with experience in dentures and partials.

The lab is especially interested in candidates with a strong background in digital removable design, though they are also open to considering experienced Crown & Bridge designers who are interested in expanding into denture and partial workflows. Training can be provided in removable design for the right candidate with a solid CAD/CAM foundation.

Key Responsibilities

Digital Design & Case Execution

  • Design digital dental restorations with an emphasis on dentures and partials
  • Support digital workflows for removable cases from prescription review through final design
  • Create accurate, functional, and aesthetic designs based on clinical requirements
  • Work with dental CAD software to produce precise digital models and case files
  • Assist with other digital design needs within the lab as required

Collaboration & Workflow Support

  • Work closely with team members to review prescriptions, case details, and production requirements
  • Collaborate with technicians and other departments to maintain efficient case flow
  • Communicate clearly regarding design adjustments, case planning, and technical considerations
  • Participate in ongoing training and skill development, particularly in removable workflows if needed

Quality & Accuracy

  • Review designs carefully for fit, function, anatomy, and overall case accuracy
  • Ensure work meets internal quality standards and doctor expectations
  • Maintain organized digital records and case documentation
  • Help support consistency and accuracy throughout the digital design process

Qualifications

Required

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in dental CAD/CAM design
  • Strong understanding of dental anatomy, occlusion, and digital workflows
  • Experience with dental CAD software such as 3Shape, Exocad, or similar platforms
  • Good attention to detail and ability to manage multiple cases in a production environment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Preferred

  • Experience designing digital dentures and partials
  • Background in removable prosthetics
  • Candidates with Crown & Bridge digital design experience who are open to training in removable design will also be considered

Work Environment

  • Full-time, onsite role in Calgary
  • Monday to Friday schedule
  • Supportive laboratory team environment
  • Opportunity to grow within a digital workflow-focused setting
  • Training available for the right candidate transitioning from Crown & Bridge into removable design
