Job Title: Civil Engineer

Job Location: Pomona, CA 91768, Hybrid onsite two days (Wed & Thurs)

Job Duration: 18 Months
 
 
Required Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with 5+ years of relevant engineering experience
  • Strong grasp of project management principles and a proactive mindset.
  • Experience in transportation road and highway design
  • Excellent communication skills—written, verbal, and virtual (Teams, email, chat, in-person).
  • Experience obtaining permits and approvals from jurisdictional agencies
  • Proven ability to manage high-volume workloads, tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD and Bluebeam.
Desired Skills:
  • Experience working with Caltrans Districts 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, or 12.
  • Hands-on experience with Caltrans DSDD and EPE documentation.
  • Experience in transportation highway design
  • Experience in civil land development (grading, drainage, fencing, road design).
  • Experience managing engineering contractors and purchase orders.
  • California PE license in Civil Engineering.
  • Familiarity with Power BI apps
 
Job Description:
  • Facilitate and Coordinate: Manage engineering consultants and collaborate with internal teams and Caltrans to develop DSDD and EPE documentation for Encroachment Permits.
  • Project Oversight: Own the scope, budget, and quality of consultant deliverables.
  • Process Improvement: Maintain dashboards, trackers and develop tools that enhance efficiency and transparency.
  • Document Management: Develop and distribute DSDD/EPE documents and ensure timely delivery to requestors.
  • Stakeholder and Agency Engagement: Facilitate meetings and feedback loops with Caltrans, engineering consultants, and internal partners to address permitting comments, revisions, and enable opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Multi-Project Management: Balance multiple projects with competing deadlines while maintaining high standards.
  • Quality Assurance: Review consultant deliverables, proposals, manage purchase orders, and approve invoices.
  • Change Champion: Contribute to process improvements and adapt quickly to evolving workflows.
