A Caltrans Electrical employee is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems such as traffic signals, lighting, and electronic signage on California’s highways. Daily tasks often include performing safety inspections, troubleshooting electrical issues, wiring new installations, and ensuring all work complies with state and federal safety standards. You’ll work both independently and as part of a crew, collaborating with engineers, technicians, and other field staff.
