Calibre CPA Group is looking for a sharp and strategic Tax Manager with their CPA/EA to join our team. We are looking for an individual to lead our corporate (1120) and partnership (1065) tax engagements at our growing public accounting firm. If you're passionate about tax strategy, client advisory, and mentoring a team WE WANT TO TALK.

What Youll Do

Tax Prep & Review

  • Review corporate and partnership returns (Forms 1120, 1065, 1040).
  • Handle multistate filings, SALT, and nexus compliance.
  • Manage tax adjustments using Engagement software.

Advisory & Strategy

  • Consult on payroll tax (FICA, unemployment, withholding, etc.).
  • Guide clients on SALT risks and registration processes.
  • Conduct tax research and draft client-ready memos.
  • Advise on tax-saving strategies and planning opportunities.

IRS & State Response

  • Lead responses to IRS and state notices, audits, and inquiries.
  • Coordinate resolutions and serve as the go-to for client tax issues.

Tax Provisions & Reporting

  • Oversee tax provisions (ASC 740) for corporate clients.
  • Align tax reporting with current laws and coordinate with finance teams.
  • Support clean and accurate financial statement reporting.

What You Bring

  • CPA required
  • Bachelors in Accounting or Finance
  • 6+ years in public accounting or corporate tax (1120, 1065, 1040)
  • Deep experience in payroll tax, SALT/Nexus, and IRS/state issue resolution
  • Solid understanding of ASC 740 tax provisions
  • Proficient in Engagement software + strong Excel skills
