Job description

The Logistics Specialist (LS) will oversee the cradle to grave process of materials for the contract through acquisition, allocation, distribution, delivery, calibration, repair, and disposal of equipment. The LS will have knowledge of government shipping requirements, including details of security, hazmat, and Post/location of requirements. The LS is responsible for maintaining effective communication with all points of contact during the entire logistics process, as well as maintaining inventory control and shipping/receiving records. * Maintain database of logistics information; orders, shipping status, delivery status, inventory, etc. through multiple technology platforms * Interpret data on logistics elements: availability (inventory), maintainability (life cycle), supply chain management, distribution, and transportation * Confer with logistics management team to determine how to optimize service levels, maintain supply-chain efficiency and minimize cost * Track product flow cradle to grave while maintaining up-to-date records abiding by contract requirements and all Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) requiremen * Monitor inventory transactions at warehouse facilities to assess receiving, storage, shipping, and inventory integrity * Receive deliveries of ordered materials/parts and verify items against packing slips and purchase orders * Enter receipts of goods into appropriate systems and maintain accurate inventory records * Track and confirm receipt of all shipped/incoming packages and provide quality control regarding accuracy of materials * Coordinate the return of damaged, defective, or incorrect items * Segregate and store parts/materials by delivery location, method of shipment, and material type * Conduct regular cyclic inventories of all static and outbound materials, tools, and equipment including company-owned and Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) * Validate inventory, reconcile invoices, and research and resolve discrepancies or elevate to management as needed * Works with 3rd party warehouse personnel to ensure program parts/materials are properly received, prepared, and shipped within applicable regulations, including OCONUS requirements * Provide inventories, goods receipts, shipping updates, and other relevant logistics information as directed * Issue and return to stock company-owned and GFE items, including processing equipment upon employee departure * Maintain accurate calibration records for applicable equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE), and support calibration efforts including tracking, inspection/testing coordination, data entry/reporting, and repair/replacement requirements * Shipping of equipment through unsecured commercial, unsecured pouch, and secured pouch * Communicate with and/or monitor service providers such as ocean carriers, air freight forwarders, customs brokers, DHL, FedEx, UPS, and State Department Diplomatic Pouch Services * Contact carriers for rates and schedules * Create shipping plans for shipments and receivables, including funding and expediting * Compile purchase order requests in a timely manner to meet program sustainability * Update the Purchase Order (PO) Tracker daily with status * Support technicians in the field with replacement of broken or worn-out equipment, calibration needs, and new PPE * Other duties as assigned Deliverables may include: * Daily order tracking status (shipped, received, etc) * Procurement Order Request (as needed) * Weekly Inventory Log * Monthly Inventory Log * Daily Program equipment readiness (BOM fulfillment %) * Program equipment shipping status (as needed) * Other duties as assigned to fulfil contract requirements REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: Education Requirements: * High School Diploma with three (3) years' experience of progressive responsibility in procurement, distribution, and warehousing roles; or * Associates Degree in business related field (preferred) with two years' experience of progressive responsibility in procurement, distribution, and warehousing roles. Licensing and Clearance Requirements: * Ability to obtain and/or maintain an active Top Secret Clearance.
