Metrology and Calibration Specialist (Associate & Mid-Level)

Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) is seeking a Metrology & Calibration Specialist to join our team in Seattle, WA.

As a calibration technician, you will have an important and exciting role in the company that includes calibration and certification of various Measurement and Test Equipment in diverse metrology parameters such as precision dimensional and optical, precision mass, temperature-humidity, pressure, flow and force. You will tackle new and challenging problems every day. You will be supporting commercial and military programs such as 777X, 737MAX, 787, P-8, Tanker, and others.

This role will be responsible for providing products and services that meet the highest technical and quality standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies and processes and embrace safety and first-time quality as a way of life - not accepting, creating or passing any defects and speaking up.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate and Mid-Level Metrology & Calibration Specialist.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Calibration/Certification of Measurement and Test Equipment (M&TE)

  • Analyzes data and documents results

  • Troubleshoots and resolves of laboratory and test-related problems

  • Coaches and trains others

  • Coordinates test requirements with customers as required, determines test methods and capabilities

  • Development of procedures for test equipment

  • Works under general direction

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee

  • 1 or more years of experience in Metrology and/or measurement science

  • Experience with dimensional, force, mass, pressure, linear measurements, temperature, vacuum, and/or other physical metrology processes

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Proficient in at least one parameter: Linear Measurements, Pressure, Temperature/Humidity, Flow, Force, or Electrical and other Physical Metrology processes

  • Certified Calibration Technician (CCT)

  • Experience in the aerospace industry

  • PMEL (Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory) experience

  • Experience with Labview, C++, and Access and/or experience writing and configuring automated software and hardware tests
