Requisition ID:                       65538                          Title: Calibration Specialist II

Arthrex, Inc. is a global medical device company and a leader in new product development and medical education in orthopedics. Arthrex is actively searching for Calibration Specialist II for our manufacturing facility in Ave Maria, FL. The Calibration Specialist II's main duties are to be able to execute and schedule all calibration activities. The Specialist also issues gage equipment as required and maintain the gage records in the calibration management system.  Join our talented team at a growing global medical device company focused on Helping Surgeons Treat Their Patients Better.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follow established laboratory safety and operational procedures.
  • Perform all responsibilities of Calibration specialist I.
  • Schedule outside contractors to perform Calibrations.
  • Conduct or organize calibration activities for mechanical, electrical, and linear equipment according to established procedures to maintain calibration status.
    1. Schedule and coordinate calibrations among various departments.
    2. Calibrate - Enter data into calibration management system.
    3. Preventive maintenance and repair - Perform repair and preventive maintenance on gages/equipment as needed.
    4. Prepare calibration reports and certificates.
  • Track and maintain all equipment status.
  • Initiate NCR for all out of tolerance equipment as required.
  • Manage lost equipment status and calibration interval adjustment within calibration management system.
  • Ensure all calibration is in accordance with approved Procedures.
  • Document all activities in a legible manner following established formats and procedures.
  • Represent the Calibration function during regulatory inspections.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 5 years experience in a manufacturing setting required
  • 2 years experience with calibration of inspection equipment/hand gages required.
  • 2 years experience with Geometric dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) required.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

Good mechanical aptitude. Ability to read blue prints.  Good understanding of Calibration principles preferred.  PMEL or equivalent training preferred.

 

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

Experience with SAP or equivalent Calibration Software, Laser Micrometer and Quality Control Inspection Equipment preferred.

 

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

 

Mathematical Skills

Ability to comprehend and apply mathematical principles to the degree required to perform the job based upon job requirements. 

Language and Communication Skills:

Ability to comprehend and apply language skills to the degree required to perform the job based upon the job requirements listed above.  Ability to verbally communicate ideas and issues effectively to other team members and management.  Ability to write and record data and information as required by procedures.
