Who We Are:
Process Instruments, an ATS Company, is Western Pennsylvania's premier test equipment and gauge calibration lab, operated by people dedicated to metrology, quality, and integrity.
The Position:
Process Instruments is seeking a Field Calibration Technician in the Pittsburgh, PA area with experience in the calibration and repair of measurement equipment for local area customers in the Manufacturing, Aerospace & Defense, Energy & Utilities, and many other industries. The Field Calibration Technician will service local and regional customers.
The Calibration Technician will work both independently and with other technicians on the team. The successful candidate ideally has calibration experience within physical/dimensional disciplines (e.g. Dimensional, Torque, Force, Scales/Balances, Mass or Pressure). Additionally, the Calibration Technician will be a self-starter, possess good interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) as well as have computer competency.
Candidates must be willing to travel to the local area customer sites to calibrate a variety of inspection, measuring and testing equipment.
Responsibilities
  • Work with other technicians within the lab to learn calibration fundamentals, which can include measurement of various types of physical & dimensional equipment
  • Identify and utilize appropriate measurement techniques
  • Maintain calibration standards
  • Working knowledge and competency or be able to be trained within at least three 3 disciplines (dimensional, torque/force, scales/balances, mass or pressure, etc.)
  • Perform calibration work within a laboratory setting or while supervised at a client facility
  • Fulfill duties safely under working conditions, in keeping with Company requirements and standards
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Travel requirement: 20-60% to local customer sites

  • Education And Experience
  • High School graduate / or equivalent required
  • Associates degree from college or technical school preferred. ; or at least one (1) year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience or training in physical or dimensional calibrations
  • Basic mathematical skills including algebra, geometry, and statistics
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office computer software including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Experience in PME, TMDE, Metrology, Calibration, ASQ CCT, METCAL, Electronics, and/or Avionics.
