Job description

Job Title: Prototype Quality Technician

Shift: Day shift: 8am-5pm (Monday-Friday)

Pay range: $21/hr

Responsibilities:

  • Perform dimensional inspections using CMMs and precision measuring equipment.
  • Program and operate Romer CMMs using PolyWorks.
  • Inspect prototype parts, assemblies, and welds to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, control plans, and inspection documents.
  • Perform weld certifications, macro analysis, and sample preparation.
  • Conduct incoming, in-process, and supplier quality inspections and audits.
  • Manage gage calibration and Gage R&R using GageTrak software.
  • Maintain inspection records using Struers software and Microsoft Office.
  • Support 8D problem-solving, continuous improvement, and quality initiatives.
  • Train and support production teams on quality standards and inspection requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety, environmental, and quality systems.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years of quality assurance or metrology experience in manufacturing.
  • 3+ years of CMM programming experience using Romer CMMs and PolyWorks.
  • Proficient with precision measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, optical comparators, and other inspection tools.
  • Ability to read blueprints, understand GD&T, and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with PPAP, GageTrak, weld inspection, and automotive manufacturing is preferred.
  • Weld and forklift certifications are a plus.
