Job Summary:
As an AlkeGel Installation Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful deployment and application of AlkeGel products at customer sites. You will be responsible for training contractor installation teams, conducting on-site customer training sessions, and delivering technical presentations to ensure proper installation techniques and optimal product performance. Your responsibilities will include traveling to project sites, providing hands-on installation guidance, troubleshooting application challenges, and serving as the technical expert for AlkeGel installation best practices.
Location:
Remote-Candidates must be based near a major airport and located within Calgary, Canada. The position requires a minimum of 50% of travel to customer sites and company locations as needed.
Responsibilities:
Contractor Training and Support:
- Conduct comprehensive installation training for contractor teams on AlkeGel application techniques
- Provide hands-on guidance and supervision during initial installations to ensure quality standards
- Develop and maintain relationships with contractor partners to support ongoing projects
- Assess contractor capabilities and certify teams for AlkeGel installations
Customer Training and Education:
- Deliver on-site training sessions to customer personnel on AlkeGel product features and benefits
- Conduct technical presentations for customer teams, including engineers, facility managers, and maintenance staff
- Provide detailed instruction on proper handling, storage, and application procedures
- Address customer questions and concerns regarding installation processes and product performance
Installation Oversight and Quality Assurance:
- Travel to customer sites to oversee AlkeGel installations and ensure adherence to specifications
- Monitor installation quality and provide real-time feedback and corrective guidance
- Document installation processes and maintain detailed project records
- Troubleshoot application challenges and implement solutions on-site
Technical Expertise and Communication:
- Serve as the primary technical resource for AlkeGel installation questions and issues
- Collaborate with sales, engineering, and product development teams to address customer needs
- Provide feedback from the field to improve installation procedures and product performance
- Create and update installation guides, training materials, and technical documentation
Qualifications/Experience:
- Associate's degree in a technical field or equivalent hands-on experience in industrial insulation, construction, or related trades
- Proven experience in insulation installation, specialty materials application, or technical field services
- Strong presentation and communication skills with ability to train diverse audiences
- Willingness to travel extensively (up to 75%) to customer and contractor sites
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to work in industrial environments and navigate construction sites safely
- Experience with thermal insulation, coatings, or specialty chemical applications preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to create training materials
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in field environments
