Full Time is 4-5 shifts (30+ hours) Part Time is 2-3 shifts (20+ hours)
Rival Bros operates multiple cafes, a cocktail bar/restaurant and a robust wholesale program in the Philadelphia area, delivering excellent coffee and customer experience on each front.
Rival Baristas serve as the frontline ambassadors of all guests' experience and enable Rival Bros cafes to be places where people can come together and enjoy great food and beverages in an uplifting environment. Baristas act as guides to customers in finding the right options from cafe menus, create quality drinks and products, and provide any additional information that guests need. They are responsible for the daily upkeep of the cafe. There is a mandate of being helpful and supporting the general cafe needs during all services which is outlined below. We are a small space so we must work together to deliver a superior experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Attend scheduled shifts on time and in accordance with dress code and appearance guidelines
  • Keep the cafe clean, presentable, and organized inside and outside: this includes taking out trash, cleaning bathrooms and maintaining window clarity
  • Prepare high quality food and drinks
  • Take and fulfill customer orders and requests
  • Contribute to an excellent experience for both employees and customers
  • Have a clear understanding of all cafe items
  • Process cash and card transactions (Basic counterfeit detection and end of day drawer reconciliation)
  • Restock and organize retail items, deliveries, and paper goods
  • Communicate with staff and managers to keep the work environment functioning smoothly
  • Assist in successful training of new hires by familiarizing them with day to day cafe operations while on shift including: coffee and food information, general flow of service, customer interaction, opening and closing procedures
  • Complete all side work before the end of a shift

We are looking for candidates who can embody a guest-first mentality; they are committed to maintaining a positive atmosphere during periods of high volume.

Physical demands
